– The trade union will use 100 million USD to take care of its members during the upcoming Lunar New Year Festival, or Tet, according to a statement at a Thursday press conference held by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in Hanoi. Trade unions at all levels will subsidize transportation costs so workers can return home for Tet.
Vice President of the General Confederation Ngo Duy Hieu said: “We decided to give approximately 8 million union members 13USD each during this Lunar New Year Festival. We have special benefit policies for union members with financial difficulties to ensure that they have a happy Tet.”
