A contest to create works of literature and art that will stand the test of time was launched on Sunday in anticipation of the 100th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3) and the 85th National Day of Vietnam (September 2) in 2030. Entries should be about the doi moi (renewal) period, the glorious historical tradition of the Party, the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam’s great victories and achievements, examples of good people and good deeds, or the Vietnamese character in the face of new challenges.

Nguyen Trong Nghia, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Communications and Education Commission, said: “We hope that writers and artists will continue to promote their intellectual talents, uphold their sense of civic responsibility, and practice ethics in keeping with the realities of national construction in the new era to create works that reflect the breath of noble life in service to the country and the people.”

The contest will be divided into 6 phases, running from now to 2025. To be eligible, contestants must be a Vietnamese citizen working or studying at home or abroad, or a foreigner working or studying in Vietnam.
