Biden not to attend APEC summit in Thailand

US President Joe Biden will not participate in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) leaders’ meeting in Bangkok, Thailand in November, Thai PBS World reported on Saturday.

The White House informed the Thai Embassy in the US that President Biden had delegated Vice President Kamala Harris to represent him at the November 18 and 19 meeting.

The APEC meeting will take place at the newly renovated Queen Sirikit International Centre in Bangkok.

Saudi Arabia will reportedly be the first Middle East country to attend the APEC leaders’ meeting, as a guest of the host.
