Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien has praised border guards for their outstanding feats of arms and achievements over the past 63 years. Speaking at a ceremony on Thursday honoring border guard soldiers’ outstanding achievements, Mr. Chien said over the past 63 years, the border guard force has overcome numerous difficulties and dangers to fulfill their tasks and achieve great feasts of arms. They have contributed to the management and protection of  Vietnam’s national borders and sovereignty.

Chien asked the border guard force to effectively implement strategies on national border protection and the Vietnam Border Guard Law, strengthen local political organizations, and enhance communications to engage civilians in border management and protection.
