China, Republic of Korea discuss Myanmar situation with ASEAN

Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Wednesday discussed the situation in Myanmar with Erywan Yusof, ASEAN special envoy to Myanmar and Brunei’s second minister of foreign affairs.

Wang proposed ways to deal with the Myanmar crisis, including dealing with all parties in Myanmar in a rational and pragmatic manner, steadily building trust, and giving top priority to helping Myanmar in its fight against COVID-19.

Wang expressed his appreciation for Brunei’s contribution as the rotating chair of ASEAN to the development of China-ASEAN relations.

The same day, Foreign Minister Chung Eui-yong of the Republic of Korea and Brunei Foreign Minister Erywan talked on the phone about cooperating on humanitarian and other issues related to Myanmar.
