Continuing the series of activities within the framework of the visit and working in Laos, on November 5, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, Tran Sy Thanh attended the Inauguration Ceremony of the Construction Project of the Headquarters of the Department of Justice and the Vientiane Prosecutor’s Office. Attending the ceremony were Athsaphangthong Siphandone, member of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, Mayor of Vientiane and leaders of many departments and branches of Vientiane.
Continuing the tradition of cooperative relations between Hanoi and Vientiane, in order to celebrate the “Vietnam-Laos, Laos-Vietnam Friendship and Solidarity Year 2022”, at the request of Vientiane leaders, an agreement was reached between the Party Committee and Government of Hanoi and the Party Committee and Government of Vientiane for the period 2022-2025, in which Hanoi would support Vientiane with 3 million US dollars to build the headquarters of the Department of Justice and the Vientiane Prosecutor’s Office.
On the occasion of the visit to Hanoi by the Vientiane Capital High Delegation, led by Comrade Anouphap Tounalom, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Vientiane Party Committee, Chairman of the People’s Council of Vientiane Capital, in August 2022, the City People’s Committee Hanoi City and Vientiane Capital Government have agreed on the content and detailed support process for the project.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Headquarters of the Department of Justice and the Prosecutor’s Office of Vientiane, the leaders of the two capitals emphasized, the groundbreaking ceremony is only the beginning of the construction process; requesting agencies of the two sides as well as the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos to closely coordinate, direct, manage and supervise the construction implementation process; request the construction contractor to carry out the construction to ensure the quality and schedule, to strictly comply with the approved objectives and tasks in the project.
Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Tran Sy Thanh affirmed that the Hanoi People’s Committee will direct relevant agencies in charge of supporting and ensuring the implementation of the project fully and promptly according to the process agreed between the two capitals.
The two sides reaffirmed that the project of Headquarters of the Department of Justice and the Vientiane Capital Prosecutor’s Office would continue to be a milestone and symbol of the good traditional friendship between the two capitals, promoting its active role for the cause of construction and development of Vientiane capital in the coming period, demonstrating the spirit of mutual assistance and development companionship of Hanoi and Vientiane.
Also within the framework of the visit and work in Vientiane, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Tran Sy Thanh and the city delegation toured the exhibition area of Hanoi goods in Vientiane on the occasion of the That Luong festival in 2022 and attend the Hanoi – Vientiane 2022 Investment, Trade and Tourism Connection Seminar.
