Deputy mayor Nguyen Manh Quyen inspects COVID-19 prevention work in industrial clusters

A COVID-19 inspection team led by Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen on June 16 inspected enforcement of disease prevention and control measures at some companies in industrial clusters and parks in Hoai Duc district.

The delegation monitored compliance with COVID-19 counter-measures at the Phu Vinh Hung Knitting Company in Truong An industrial cluster (An Khanh commune), and Minh Duong Food Joint Stock Company in Di Trach industrial cluster (Di Trach commune).

 

According to Nguyen Viet Tung, Chairman of Board of Directors of Phu Vinh Hung Knitting Company,  the COVID-19 pandemic has taken a heavy toll on  the company.

 

Being well aware of the danger of the disease, the company has strictly complied with regulations on pandemic prevention and control.

 

A steering committee for COVID-19 prevention and control has been established to effectively carry out anti-pandemic measures in the company.

 

The company’s executives and employees are required to follow  the message of the Ministry of Health the 5K (in Vietnamese) message of the Health Ministry   which is Khau trang (facemask) – Khu khuan (disinfection) – Khoang cach (distance) – Khong tu tap (no gathering) – Khai bao y te (health declaration).

 

So far, the company has worked out its own scenarios to respond to the developments of the pandemic.

 

Meanwhile, Nguyen Duy Hong, General Director of Minh Duong Food Joint Stock Company, said that in an effort to prevent the spread of the virus, the company has seriously implemented the instructions of the Government, the Ministry of Health and the authority of Hanoi.

 

The company has set up its steering committee and COVID-19 prevention groups to update the disease situation and map out plans to fight COVID-19 outbreak.

The company has also put various measures to contain the spread of the pandemic in place, such as wearing facemasks, checking body temperature, washing hands with sanitizers, among others.

 

Giving a report at the working session, the authority of Hoai Duc district said that since the fourth wave of COVID-19 hit Vietnam on April 27, no new coronavirus cases have been found in the area.

 

However, the local government has been  vigilant in the fight against the pandemic.

 

According to the local authority, Hoai Duc is the home to more than 300 enterprises with over 7,000 workers. In order to prevent the pandemic in industrial clusters and parks, the district has set up COVID-19 inspection teams to monitor the enforcement of disease prevention and control protocols in firms.

 

All companies are requested to establish their anti-pandemic groups and strictly abide by COVID-19 prevention regulations as guided by the Ministry of Health.

 

Making conclusion at the working session, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen described the fight against the disease as a key task which has received special attention from the city in pursuing the twin goals of containing the pandemic and boosting socio-economic development.

 

The municipal government has regularly issued guiding documents to timely address the impacts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, he added, noting that the task forces are working hard to prevent infections as well as protect people’s health.

 

Quyen praised the companies for their strict enforcement of COVID-19 prevention and control regulations.

 

In a bid to stamp out the disease, the official asked the firms to remain vigilant and continue taking preventive measures.

 

In addition to working with the local authorities, each unit should map out its own scenario to cope with the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic, he suggested.

 

He called on all employees to seriously observe counter-pandemic measures, especially make medical declarations, so as to keep themselves safe during the pandemic.

 

Quyen also urged relevant departments and branches, the Hanoi Export Processing zone and Industrial Park Authority and the People’s Committee of Hoai Duc district to paid more attention and create favorable conditions for enterprises to combat the pandemic as well as to expand their production.
