My Duc district of Hanoi decided to suspend Huong (Perfume) Pagoda Festival.

The Huong Pagoda Festival normally opens for three months from February 2nd to May 30th and this year’s opening ceremony was scheduled for the 6th day of the first lunar month.

The authorities of My Duc district said preparation has been finalized. But due to the COVID-19 pandemic complication, the district canceled the festival and will not receive guests at the Huong Pagoda until further notice.

Last week Hanoi municipal People’s Committee ordered the suspension of all festivals and unnecessary large gatherings during Tet. Localities are asked to strengthen pandemic preventive measures in high-risk areas and reinforce pandemic prevention and control.
