Hanoi mayor extends Christmas greetings to the Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres

Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Chu Ngoc Anh on December 22 visited the Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres (at No.37 Hai Ba Trung Street, Hoan Kiem district) on the upcoming Christmas.

The city leader briefed the parishioners on the outstanding achievement the city attained in 2021.

According to him, over the past year, Hanoi has given the top priority to combat the COVID-19 pandemic and protect public health.

Despite the COVID-19 severe impacts, the city capital has exerted every effort to maintain socio-economic development, national security and defense, adapting safely, flexibly and sustainably to the pandemic.

Anh hailed the nuns’ contribution to COVID-19 prevention and control work, hoping them to organize more activities to care for the poor and those in difficult circumstances.

He also wished the Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres to continue strictly abiding by pandemic prevention and control measures in line with the Government’s stance of safe and flexible adaptation to the pandemic.

Expressing her delight at the city’s development, especially the success in the fight against COVID-19, Saint-Jean Tran Thi Anh, provincial superior of the St. Paul de Chartres Sisters in Hanoi, said that the Sisters will make more effort and join hands to build a prosperous capital city.
