Hanoi promotes cooperation with Rumanian localities

 

On October 17, Standing Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Le Hong Son held a meeting with a delegation of Romanian Friendship Parliamentarians, led by Eugen Neata – Chairman of the Friendship Parliamentary Group.  

At the meeting, the two sides discussed the upcoming exchange of business, cultural and educational delegations, affirming the potential for further cooperation between the two sides.

Thanking the city leaders for the warm welcome, Chairman of the Romanian Friendship Parliamentarians Group Eugen Neata stated that Hanoi is one of the most important cooperation partners for Romania. Neata noted that the purpose of this visit is to further expand cooperation between Romania and localities in Vietnam, including Hanoi, as well as tighten friendship and people-to-people exchanges and mutual understanding.

Regarding specific cooperation, Neata said that by the end of October, more than 20 Romanian universities will participate in the Vietnam Education Exhibition. In addition, within the framework of the upcoming 72nd anniversary of Vietnam-Romania relations, cultural events and people-to-people exchanges will also take place in Hanoi. Neata expressed his thanks for the support of the City People’s Committee to these events, as well as his wish that the city will continue to facilitate cooperation activities between Hanoi and Romanian partners; promote cooperation potentials that are still open between the two sides.

On behalf of the city’s leaders, Standing Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Le Hong Son welcomed the visit of the delegation, which took place in the context that the relationship between Vietnam and Romania over the past time has been continuously  strengthened.

At the same time, he thanked Romania for its support to the companies and to the students and Vietnamese who have been living, working and studying in Romania for a long time. The standing vice chairman of the City People’s Committee also agreed with the proposals of the Parliamentary Group on strengthening cooperation in areas such as education, culture and people-to-people exchanges.

Along with that, Standing Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Le Hong Son said that the two sides have the potential to promote cooperation in investment promotion, trade and further economic development in Hanoi. On the side of the capital government, Son said the authorities are ready to create all conditions for these activities.

The city leaders suggested the two sides consider implementing delegation exchange activities, thereby, tightening the close relationship between Hanoi and Bucharest, as well as other Romanian cities during the next period.
