Ho Chi Minh City to administer 1.1 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine

Ho Chi Minh City’s 5th phase of vaccination against COVID-19 will administer 1.1 million doses of vaccine, said the municipal Department of Health on Sunday. As the city implements social distancing, the health sector says it will take advantage of this time to speed up COVID-19 vaccination, testing, and contact tracing.

In this round of vaccination, which will take 2-3 weeks, the priority groups will be vulnerable people and those located in very high-risk or high-risk locations.

Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Health Tang Chi Thuong said, “District chairpersons will be responsible for organizing vaccination and coordinating with medical facilities. Hopefully, this approach will reduce congestion and avoid the mistakes we made during the first phase of inoculation.”

Ho Chi Minh City will set up 630 vaccination points and at each point 120 people will be vaccinated each day. Vaccination will take place from 8 am to 1 pm and 3 pm to 8 pm.
