More than 100 artists will showcase the traditional costumes of the Thai, Mong, Ha Nhi, and Lu ethnic minorities as part of a cultural and tourism week highlighting the northern mountainous province of Lai Chau which will open next Friday in Ho Chi Minh city.

Other activities include a carnival, traditional art performances, tourism promotion programs, displays of OCOP products and local specialties, and a photo exhibition.

Tong Thanh Hai, Vice Chairman of the Lai Chau provincial People’s Committee, said that Lai Chau has 20 ethnic groups, including four indigenous minorities.

The three-day cultural and tourism week will be a chance for HCM city people and visitors to better learn about their costumes, cultures, and cuisine, he added.
