Vietnam recorded 161,262 infections of COVID-19 on Monday, according to the Health Ministry.
Hanoi reported the highest number of new cases (nearly 30,000).
Two thirds of 63 provinces and cities nationwide have administered 2 shots of COVID-19 vaccines to at least 95% of their populations.
The Health Ministry is accelerating efforts to vaccinate children under 12.
