National master plan high on agenda of NA’s extraordinary meeting on Saturday

At its ongoing extraordinary meeting in Hanoi, the NA on Saturday discusses the National Master Plan for the 2021-2030 period and vision to 2050 and review the implementation of Resolution 30 of the first session of the 15th NA and policies on COVID-19 prevention and control.

 

Under the National Master Plan, Vietnam is set to become a developing country with modernised industry, upper middle income, economic growth based on sci-tech, innovation and digital transformation by 2030.

 

By 2050, Vietnam is set to become a developed nation with high income; equitable, democratic and civilised society. The GDP growth will reach about 6.5-7.5% annually during 2031-2050 while urbanisation rate will hit 70-75% by 2050.

 

The GDP growth is poised to hit roughly 7% annually during 2021-2030. By 2030, average GDP per capita at current prices will stand at around 7,500 USD.

 

Deputies will also discuss the refinancing programs in localities and budget estimates the same day.
