New support policy for hi-tech application pilot model

Long An province has just issued a decision to unify policies to support the development of hi-tech application pilot models for four crops such as rice, vegetables, dragon fruit and lemon. This is one of the policies to support the development of hi-tech agricultural production, associated with restructuring the agricultural sector in the province.

This policy comes into effect from August 27, 2021, with a support period of 3 consecutive years to implement the pilot model for the above 4 crops with the costs of buying seeds and production materials; designing and renovating fields; purchasing or renting hi-tech equipment, modern technology, automation and digital technology for production.

In which, the first year supports 50 percent of the total cost, but the maximum support level does not exceed 300 million VND per model. The second year supports 30 percent of the total cost, the maximum level is not more than 200 million VND per model. The third year supports 20 percent of the total cost, the maximum level is not more than 100 million VND per model.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in order to be supported this policy, the minimum area conditions of the pilot model must be met 50 hectares for rice, 10 hectares for lemon trees, and 10 hectares for dragon fruit trees, 1 hectare for vegetables. The pilot model must have a production method and plan for 3 consecutive years, maintaining support results for at least 3 years. In case of forced liquidation before the deadline, the agreement of the supporting agency must be obtained.

In addition, varieties, fertilizers and pesticides must be on the list of permitted production, trade and use in Vietnam. Hi-tech equipment, modern technology, automation and digital technology must be on the list of incentives and prioritized support promulgated according to regulations.

“This is one of the policies to support the agricultural development program with hi-tech application in association with the restructuring of the agricultural sector in the province in the period 2021 – 2025”, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development – Nguyen Chi Thien said.

Funding for implementing the above support comes from various sources such as central budget; capital source of the VnSAT project; sources of support for the development of rice land; sources of support for public irrigation products and services; the national target program on new-style rural construction; lottery capital and other lawful mobilized sources./.
