In the morning of January 14, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs held an online conference to deploy the tasks of labor, people with merit and society in 2023. In which, the unemployment rate of workers in urban areas is 2.79%; the rate of trained workers is about 67%; the rate of poor households according to the multidimensional poverty line decreased by about 1.2%; sending more than 142 thousand workers to work abroad under contracts, reaching 158% of the plan; The proportion of the labor force in the age group participating in social insurance is about 38%, and the participation in unemployment insurance is about 31.1%. In the 3 years affected by the COVID-19 epidemic, the entire industry has promptly and effectively implemented policies to support over 68.43 million turns of employees, people and over 1.41 million turns of employers. with a total budget of nearly 104.5 trillion VND,

Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh assessed the tasks of the Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs sector as very large, very heavy, comprehensive and specific. The Prime Minister shared with the difficulties and obstacles the industry encountered in the process of implementing tasks, and at the same time recognized and praised the achievements of the sector in the past time, contributing to the overall achievements of the country.

Determining that 2023 will continue to be a difficult year, the Prime Minister suggested that the industry promote its bravery, experience, flexibly deploy, innovate and create solutions to meet the requirements of daily work. more and more. Continue to institutionalize and concretize the direction of the Party and State; perfecting mechanisms and policies, meeting requirements on subjects and scope of activities; well implement the policy of return and gratitude towards people with meritorious services to the revolution; focus on developing high-quality labor market; building and developing a multi-layered social security system based on absorbing the appropriate international model; accelerate sustainable poverty reduction programs; coordinate with ministries and sectors in implementing programs to care for children and women; implementing digital transformation programs to meet the increasing needs of the people; building a strong and clean Party Committee system; streamlining the apparatus under the direction of the Government.
