Online exhibition raises public awareness of human trafficking

A two-month online exhibition opened Tuesday to raise public awareness of human trafficking. 200 photos and stories were divided into three topics: “Haunting numbers”, “Memories to forget”, and “For a brighter tomorrow”, to tell how human trafficking operates, how terribly the victims suffer, and what is being done to crack down on human trafficking and heal its victims.

Colonel Nguyen Hoa Chi, Deputy Director of the Foreign Relations Department of the Ministry of Public Security, said, “Human trafficking happens everywhere. The crimes are getting more complicated. The way human traffickers approach their targets has switched from in-person to social media and smart phones. We need everyone to get involved in countering human trafficking. This exhibition is part of our communications campaign. By unveiling the traps of human traffickers, the online exhibition hopes to wake people wary of this crime.”
