PM hosts national dialogue with farmers

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stressed the need to enhance self-reliance with human resources serving as the mainstay, as Vietnam aims to develop eco-agriculture and modern and civilized rural areas. Mr. Chinh was speaking at a national dialogue with farmers which was held in the northwestern mountainous province of Son La and connected with all provinces and cities nationwide.

The dialogue touched upon a wide range of issues including post-COVID agricultural recovery, strengthening connectivity between farmers and businesses, loans and credits, the rural environment, and vocational training for rural laborers.

“It’s crucial to improve farmers’ knowledge to boost technology application, innovation, startups, and digital transformation in the agricultural sector. We aim to develop eco, high-tech agriculture and build modern rural areas associated with urbanization, industry and service development,” said PM Chinh.

PM Chinh highlighted the important role of agriculture in national development and emphasized the need to fine-tune institutions, accelerate administrative reform, and increase State investment in agriculture and rural areas.
