President underscores balancing factors in APEC cooperation

President Nguyen Xuan Phuc has proposed a number of “balancing” factors in cooperation:  putting people at the center to create balance in each economy, among sectors, and among social elements; and balancing interests and responsibilities among economies and regions.

Addressing a discussion on sustainable, inclusive and balanced growth as part of the 29th APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting and related activities on Friday, President Phuc said that Asia-Pacific has entered a new phase of development and needs to take the lead in promoting the balanced, inclusive and sustainable growth model, and assist member economies with green transition and digital transformation.

He also shared Vietnam’s policy on national digital transformation, developing a green economy, a circular economy with the people as the center, subject and highest goal of development. He affirmed that Vietnam is making efforts to implement COP26 commitments and hopes to receive support from the international community and APEC members.
