Relief package for COVID-19 affected workers, businesses to begin in July

The Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs will begin direct support program for workers and businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic early next month.

The 4th wave of the COVID-19 pandemic has affected about 9.1 million workers, including 540 million people losing jobs and 21% of workers in companies and cooperatives affected. Workers in industrial parks and workers without labor contracts hardly stand prolonged difficulties.

Minister of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung said, “There will be 12 groups of support policies using state budget to directly help employers and employees. Practical and specific policies will be implemented with simple procedures to make it easy for people to access with priority to receive support in cash.”

Minister Dung said the policy will cover all people in need, including workers without contracts.
