The Saudi-led coalition on Saturday launched a “large-scale” assault on Yemen amid an escalation of tensions between the coalition and the Houthi rebels. 

The attack came after two people were killed and seven others wounded in a projectile attack on Jazan, a southern region of Saudi Arabia bordering Yemen. It was the first deadly attack in three years that was linked to the Houthi rebels.

In a first response, the Houthi forces announced that they would respond to the coalition’s offensive operation.
