Vietnam’s bivalve molluscs exports to the EU increase sharply

According to the Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), Vietnam’s exports of bivalve molluscs to the EU in the first 6 months of this year reached 37 million USD, up 35% compared to last year.

Clams are the most-exported products to the EU. According to VASEP, the export of bivalve molluscs to the EU has grown dramatically because these products are ready-made, convenient, and inexpensive, and do not depend much on imported sources.

Italy, Spain, and Portugal are the three largest EU importers of bivalve molluscs from Vietnam, accounting for 21%, 17%, and 12% respectively.
