Vietnam’s new preschool education program will develop children’s abilities

-Vietnam’s new early childhood education program will focus on developing children’s abilities, according to a seminar held in Hanoi on Monday.

Themed “National and international experience for developing the early childhood education curriculum”, the seminar reviewed 10 years of implementing Vietnam’s national preschool education program and collected opinions from experts to help build a new program that supports a fundamental and comprehensive renovation of education and training.

Dr. Le Anh Vinh, Editor-in-Chief of the Early Childhood Education Program and Director of the Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences, said, “The program aims to help children develop physically, emotionally, intellectually and aesthetically, and give children fundamental capabilities that will aid their psychological development and stimulate their capacity to the fullest, getting them well-prepared for the lifelong learning process.”

The new program will focus on developing children’s abilities, be linked to the 2018 General Education Program, and give localities more power to implement the program.
