Activities are underway all over Vietnam to mark the 75th anniversary of the National Resistance Day (December 19).

The Vietnam Military History Museum in Hanoi opened an exhibition of 200 photos, documents, and artifacts that affirm the sound, creative leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by President Ho Chi Minh during the anti-French colonialist war of resistance which began in 1946.

The northern port city of Hai Phong opened an exhibition of propaganda posters at the square in front of the Hai Phong Opera House.

The library of the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong is displaying 50 books of history, literary, and art that recall the resistance.

The Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics hosted a symposium that shed light on the reasons President Ho Chi Minh made an appeal for a national resistance and his resolute, versatile leadership. Participants highlighted the unyielding spirit of Vietnamese people who defended Vietnam’s independence and freedom. They also analyzed the influence of the resistance and lessons learned from it which are still relevant to today’s national construction and defense.
