Agro-forestry-fisheries sector enjoys trade surplus of 3.3 billion USD in eight months

The agro-forestry-fisheries sector earned more than 32 billion USD from export in the past eight months, resulting in a trade surplus of about 3.3 billion USD, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The US remained the biggest market for the sector with imports totaling 9.3 billion USD in the reviewed period, accounting for 29% of the market share. It was followed by China with 19% of the market share.

The ministry said that COVID-19 forced factories to slow down operations or even shut down, affecting Vietnam’s export.
