Closure segment of Vietnam’s tallest viaduct completed

The closure segment of Mong Sen, the tallest viaduct in Vietnam, was completed on Wednesday in Lao Cai province.

The viaduct is one of the key projects marking the 30th anniversary of Lao Cai province’s re-establishment on October 1.

The Mong Sen viaduct, whose construction began in early 2020, has a length of more than 600m. It connects the bottom and top of a treacherous 80m slope, one of the most dangerous sections of the route from Lao Cai city to Sapa town. The 22-million-USD project aims to meet increasing transportation demand in the region and improve the efficiency of the Noi Bai-Lao Cai expressway.
