Communal Cultural Post Office established on Tran Island

Co To district has just opened a communal cultural post office on the farthest island of Tran in Thanh Lan Commune.

The construction of the Communal Cultural Post started in April 2021 with a total investment of nearly VND 1.1 billion. As an affiliate of Co To District Post Office, the post office provides residents with public postal services, free books and newspapers. It also sells consumer goods to serve the needs of soldiers and residents here.

This place not only serves the needs of exchanging letters, parcels, and newspapers but also actively help inhabitants keep up with the country’s political, economic and social issues.

Locals, officers, and soldiers on duty on the island now find it more convenient to communicate and exchange information with their relatives on the mainland.

Covering an area of 5.5 square kilometers, Tran Island is located to the northeast of Co To Island in Quang Ninh province. It is about two hours by boat from Cai Rong Port in Van Don district to Tran Island.

Although living conditions here are hard, soldiers and islanders are doing their best to develop the island. In addition to improving islanders’ living standards, Quang Ninh province has built infrastructure, specified production industries, and created specific policies to help local residents stabilize their lives. Fishermen can obtain subsidized loans to repair fishing boats, buy fishing equipment, and pay for logistic services. Islanders are being provided with medical insurance cards.
