Flag hoisting ceremony held for RoRo-5612 multipurpose vessels

A flag hoisting ceremony was held on Thursday for four RoRo-5612 multipurpose vessels in Ca Mau province to mark the 60th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Trail at Sea (October 23) and the 46th anniversary of the Naval Zone 5 (October 26). 

RoRo-5612 is a new generation multipurpose amphibious transport ship armed with modern weapons. The ships were built by Song Thu Shipbuilding Corporation and designed by the Dutch Damen Shipyards Group. Their launch was a remarkable advancement for the Vietnamese Navy in improving its combat readiness, assistance, and management capacity to defend Vietnam’s maritime sovereignty.
