Hanoi confirms 1,357 COVID-19 infected cases on December 15

 

The capital city of Hanoi confirmed 1,357 new COVID-19 infections from 6 p.m. on December 14 to 6 p.m. on December 15, according data released by the municipal Department of Health.

 

Out of the total, 611 cases were detected in the community, and 609 others in concentrated quarantine facilities and 137   in areas under lockdown.

 

The new infections were reported in 30 districts, including Dong Da (256 cases), Hoang Mai (200), Hai Ba Trung (145), Chuong My (67), Gia Lam (67), Nam Tu Liem (58), Dong Anh (58), Bac Tu Liem (56), Thanh Tri (50), Hoan Kiem (49), Cau Giay (44), Thuong Tin (40), Tay Ho (40), Thanh Xuan (29), Soc Son (28), Ha Dong (23), Thanh Oai (21), Ba Vi (20), Hoai Duc (18), Me Linh (14), Phu Xuyen (14), Quoc Oai (13), Ba Dinh (12), Thach That (8), Long Bien (7),  Son Tay (6), Ung Hoa (5), My Duc (4), Dan Phuong (3), and Phuc Tho (2).

 

Among the community-acquired infection cases, 139 infections were found in Hoang Mai, 110 in Dong Da, 101 in Hai Ba Trung, 29 in Thanh Tri, 26 in Gia Lam, 23 in Bac Tu Liem, 22 in Cau Giay, 21 in Dong Anh, 19 in Chuong My, 17 in Hoan Kiem, 15 each in Nam Tu Liem and Thanh Xuan, eight each in Soc Son and Tay Ho, seven each in Me Linh, Thuong Tin, Ha Dong and Long Bien, five each in Thach That and Ung Hoa, four each in My Duc, Phu Xuyen and Ba Vi, three in Hoai Duc, two in Quoc Oai, and one each in Dan Phuong, Ba Dinh and Son Tay.

 

Since the fourth wave of COVID-19 flared up in late April, Hanoi has documented 21,467 coronavirus carriers, including 8,223 detected in the community and 13,244 in quarantine establishments or blockaded areas.

 

Local people are required to strictly abide by the 5K message and countermeasures set by the Ministry of Health so as to soon stamp out the pandemic.

 

Those showing symptoms of cough, sore throat, high body temperature, fatigue, reduction or loss of taste are required to contact with the nearest medical facility for COVID-19 testing to timely deter community transmission.
