Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam made the request at a Monday online meeting with Quang Ngai, Binh Thuan, Khanh Hoa, Binh Dinh, and Phu Yen province. He asked the localities to speed up testing and report to the Center for Disease Control for timely tracing. He also asked the Health Ministry to provide more biologicals for Realtime RT-PCR testing, quick antigen testing, and COVID-19 vaccines for localities.

Mr. Dam urged for speeding up information sharing between localities on F0, F1, and F2 cases.

“Localities that haven’t reported infections yet need to conduct Realtime-PCR and quick antigen testing in hospitals, and collect test samples at bus stations, markets, restaurants, and other high-risk areas. But we shouldn’t overuse the quick antigen testing,” he said.

The Deputy Prime Minister asked the provinces to strictly follow quarantine guidelines to avoid cross infections, open more quarantine camps, and permit home quarantine if infections start increasing quickly.
