Swedish lawmakers on Monday elected Magdalena Andersson – the former Finance Minister who leads the Social Democratic Party – to be Prime Minister for the second time in less than a week. Andersson is the first female Prime Minister in Swedish history, taking over from PM Stefan Löfven, who has held the position for 7 years.
Andersson is expected to lead a single-party Social Democratic government. She has promised to prioritize social welfare, climate, crime, and immigration issues during her tenure.
