On December 23, Ba Dinh district held the opening ceremony of the new night food street and pedestrian area Dao Ngoc – Ngu Xa in Truc Bach ward.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of Truc Bach Ward People’s Committee Nguyen Dan Huy said that the night food street and pedestrian area Dao Ngoc – Ngu Xa responsed to the Program No. 03-CTr/TU of the Hanoi Party Committee on “the development of urban area and economy in Hanoi in the 2021-2025 period” and Program No. 11-CTr/QU of Ba Dinh District Party Committee on “Promoting potentials and advantages for the development of Ba Dinh district’s economy in the period 2020 -2025″.
On August 30, 2022, the Hanoi People’s Committee issued a document giving the Ba Dinh District permission to pilot the project.
Following the direction of the District Party Committee and People’s Council, the authorities of Truc Bach Ward implemented solutions to soon put the project into practice. In this regard, Ba Dinh district has assigned the People’s Committee of the ward as the investor to carry out technical infrastructure renovation and urban embellishment of streets of Ngu Xa and Nguyen Khac Hieu and parks surrounding the Truc Bach lake.
The launch of the Dao Ngoc – Ngu Xa night food street and pedestrian area is set to further contribute to socio-economic development.
“Along with the improvement of technical infrastructure and urban embellishment, Truc Bach ward has mobilized people and service facilities to build the neighborhood that is not only beautiful in terms of landscape and space, but also beautiful in business and social conduct. The night food street with many cultural activities, art, food festivals are expected to satisfy all visitors coming to Truc Bach to learn about the culture and history, or enjoy local cuisine,” said Chairman of the People’s Committee of Truc Bach Ward Nguyen Dan Huy.
At the ceremony, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ba Dinh district Ta Nam Chien affirmed, the night food street and pedestrian Ngoc Island – Ngu Xa will be a new cultural and culinary space in the district, a place to promote OCOP products, tourist gifts of Hanoi and Ba Dinh district and to introduce and honor traditional bronze casting.
At the same time, it is also a place where tourists can relax and enjoy the lake scenery, cultural and artistic activities, immerse themselves in traditional rituals during holidays.
The food street will contribute to building the image of Hanoi’s tourism as a “Safe – Friendly – Quality – Attractive” destination, contributing to the development of urban economy, tourism of the Capital in general and Ba Dinh district in particular, he said.
“In order to well manage and run the activities of the night food street and pedestrian area Dao Ngoc – Ngu Xa to ensure security and order, food safety, environmental sanitation, civility and courtesy, the District People’s Committee has assigned tasks of units in formulating internal rules and regulations on management and operation,” emphasized the Chairman of Ba Dinh District People’s Committee.
Chairman of Ba Dinh District People’s Committee also said that in the coming time, Ba Dinh district will continue to study and listen to comments to finalize rules and regulations for the area.
