Thanh Tri District focuses on COVID-19 vaccination

 Member of the Party Central Committee and Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen had a working with the command for COVID-19 prevention and control of Thanh Tri District on September 11. 

Tuyen conducted checks on a number of concentrated quarantine facilities, testing and vaccination centers in the area.

 

Working with the command for COVID-19 prevention and control, the district leader gave a report on results in the fight against the pandemic.

 

According to the report, over the past week, Thanh Tri has recorded 45 COVID-19 infected cases, including 11 community-acquired infections linked to seven new coronavirus outbreaks. The locality is facing high risk of COVID-19 spreading.

 

Since September 9, the district has cooperated with 200 doctors and medical staffs from Phu Tho province who who came to support the acceleration of   mass testing and vaccination.

 

So far, 100% of high-risk people have had their samples collected for testing. More than 130,000 vaccine doses have been administered.

 

The competent authorities have granted nearly 1,400 travel permits and more than 78,000 market coupons to local residents.

 

Realizing the Government’s Resolution 68 on some support policies for pandemic-hit workers and employers, Thanh Tri has approved nearly 4,000 applications and disbursed approximately VND6 billion. Besides, the support worth over VND7 billion has been provided to more than 7,000 people facing difficulties due to the pandemic under Resolution 15 of the municipal People’s Council.

 

Tuyen praised the district for its effort in conducting mass testing and vaccination in a safe manner.

 

However, as the COVID-19 situation is still complicated and unpredictable, she asked the district to implement stronger measures to prevent the spread of the disease.

 

For the time being, Thanh Tri should strictly follow directions of the Prime Minister and Directive 06-CT/TU dated September 1 of the municipal Party Committee with the spirit of considering communes and wards as fortresses and each person as a soldier in the fight against the pandemic, she noted.

 

She urged the district, designated as red zones, or zone 1, to strictly implement social distancing measures, tighten control of the movement of local people to soon control the pandemic.

 

Tuyen asked for more effort to conduct testing for all people to deter community transmission, while working with the medical team from Phu Tho province to accelerate vaccination.

 

Thanh Tri needs to strengthen communication to raise public awareness on pandemic prevention and control; make preparations for COVID-19 development response; enhance inspection and impose hash punishment on those break COVID-19 prevention rules, she stressed.

 

Tuyen also requested the local authorities to pay special attention to ensuring social welfare, helping those affected by the pandemic.
