The authority of Thanh Xuan District held a conference on June 22 to take stock of the elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels. The event saw the attendance of Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People’s Council Phung Thi Hong Ha. According to a report of the district Election Committee, the general election in Thanh Xuan district has ended in success as 99.63% of local voters went to the polls amid the serious COVID-19 situation. This political event really became a festival of the entire people.
Local voters have elected three deputies for the 15th National Assembly, three for the municipal People’s Council and 35 others for the People’s Council of Thanh Xuan District.
In an effort to improve the council’s operation, Secretary of the district Party Committee Nguyen Viet Ha urged the local authorities to jointly organize the council’s first meeting for the tenure of 2021-2026 to consolidate the apparatus and select officials to key positions in the city’s governing bodies.
She also asked the district People’s Council to soon perfect its working rules, and focus on realizing Resolution of the city’s 17th Party Congress, ten action plans of the municipal Party Committee, and programs of the district Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
On the occasion, the municipal People’s Committee handed certificates of merit to seven collectives and ten individuals in recognition of their contributions to the elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the tenure of 2021-2026.
