UN Resident Coordinator in Vietnam, Kamal Malhotra, received the insignia “For the cause of political theory training” at a ceremony in Hanoi on Monday.
Politburo member Nguyen Xuan Thang, Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Theoretical Council and President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, commended Mr. Malhotra for his contributions to women’s empowerment, gender equality, global peace and security, mine clearance activities in Vietnam, and climate change and natural disaster mitigation.
Mr. Malhotra has actively assisted Vietnam in information and experience sharing and policy consultation during the COVID-19 pandemic, and has helped mobilize COVID-19 vaccines and medical supplies for Vietnam.
