The Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports and the Architecture Magazine in collaboration with UNESCO in Vietnam and the Hoan Kiem District People’s Committee held a ceremony to kick-start the Unleashing Creativity Week 2021 and honor winners of Creative Space Design Contest for the capital city on December 24. The event saw the attendance of Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong, and Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Duong Duc Tuan.

Unleashing Creativity Week 2021 is expected to create an intriguing multi-dimensional dialogue between the creative arts with a place, a space imbued with cultural and artistic interference.

Within the framework of the week, a series of activities will be held, with the participation of many traditional and modern art forms, such as fashion design, calligraphy, sketching, music experimentation, video arts and experimental traditional theatrical art performances.

During the week, the organizers will hold talks and seminars where managers, policymakers and investors will assess the potentials, advantages, and disadvantages of Hanoi in building creative communities, find design ideas and exploit the capital’s creative spaces, thereby, contributing to enhancing Hanoi’s competitive position as the “Creative Kingdom” in Southeast Asia.

Unleashing Creativity Week 2021 serves as the premise for an annual event series of the same name, aiming to create a platform connecting the cultural and creative resources of Hanoi, embracing the quintessence of cultural heritage so that the city matches its status as a Creative City in Design, as part of UNESCO Creative Cities Network.

At the launching ceremony, the organizers announced the winners of Hanoi Creative Space Design Contest.

The contest aimed to raise awareness, and to engage the community in the cultural and creative pulse of the city, thus step by step realizing the creation of creative spaces and communities.

Architectural ideas and solutions winning the contest of Hanoi Creative Space Design Contest will be showcased at the week.

Unleashing Creativity Week 2021 takes place from December 24 to 31, 2021 at the Centre for Art & Culture at 22 Hang Buom street, Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi.
