Ahead of the upcoming Lunar New Year, on January 19, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong visited the Party Committee, Government and people of Hanoi.
Reporting to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen said that in 2022, the Party Committee, Government and people of Hanoi have achieved many important results in the work of building the Party and the political system, contributing to socio-economic development, ensuring national defense, security, social order and safety in the city.
The City Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and the entire political system of the city have focused on realizing the “dual goal” of both prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic, while promoting socio-economic development in the direction of safe and flexible adaptation to the Covid-19 pandemic.
As a result, the city has completed all 22 socio-economic development targets, in which, 5 targets exceeded the plan, such as: economic growth reaching 8.89%, the highest in recent times; total state budget revenue in the area hitting over VND330 trillion, equaling 106.8 percent of the estimate.
The size of Hanoi’s economy reached VND1,200 trillion, equivalent to about US$50 billion, while GRDP per capita at VND141.8 million, an increase of VND13.6 million compared to 2021.
On behalf of the Party Committee, Government and People of the Capital, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen expressed her thanks to the precious affections and special attention of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and leaders of the Party, State and Government to Hanoi during the past years.
At the meeting, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong said that the year of 2022 posed many difficulties and unexpected challenges, which had a heavy impact not only on Vietnam but also on the world.
In that context, under the leadership of the Party, with the consensus of the entire people and army, the country overcame all difficulties and challenges, and achieved many important results in all fields, In particular, Vietnam has successfully contained the Covid-19 pandemic while promoting the recovery of socio-economic development, building an independent and self-reliant economy, associated with proactive and active international integration.
In addition, the country has ensured social and political stability; national defense – security, contributing to a peaceful and stable environment for development.
In addition, the process of Party building has seen positive progresses, leading to greater people’s trust in the Party, State and the socialist regime.
“In the positive achievements of the country, there is a very important contribution from the Party Committee, the Government and the People of Hanoi,” noted General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
In the past year, despite facing many difficulties and challenges, Hanoi with the spirit of solidarity and unity has successfully completed political tasks, and achieved very encouraging results in all fields; many targets met and exceeded the plan, the capital’s economy recovered strongly after the Covid-19 pandemic; GRDP growth in 2022 was higher than the national average and the highest in the last 10 years.
On behalf of the leaders of the Party and State, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong warmly praised, welcomed and congratulated the great results that the Party Committee, Government and People of Hanoi have achieved in 2022.
