Art program calls for joint response to natural disasters

An art exchange took place in Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday, calling for joint efforts to cope with natural disasters.

Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung underscored the need to improve public awareness, readiness, and preparations for natural calamity.

Authorities and the public should support initiatives and specific measures to cope with potential disasters. I hope the model of the central region's fund for natural disaster prevention will be expanded, especially to flood prone areas, said Mr. Dung.

The National Search and Rescue Committee donated 2,000 emergency life-jackets and 300 emergency life-rafts worth 88,000 USD.
