VGP- A direct air route from the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho and the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong will be launched on April 26, with one-way fare set at 840,000 VND (around $38.6).

Vice Chairman of Lam Dong People’s Committee Nguyen Van Yen said last year, the province welcomed around 4.8 million tourists, of which approximately 1 million are from the Mekong Delta region.

However, only about 400,000 visitors arrived via Lien Khuong airport in Lam Dong’s Da Lat City.

The opening of the Lien Khuong-Can Tho air route will help boost tourism connectivity between the two localities as well as others in the two regions, he said.

The new service will be operated by the Viet Nam Air Services Company  (Vasco) and the Vietravel tourist company.

A return fare will be VND2.8 million. Vietravel will charter two flights using 65-seat ATR plane per week. Aircraft will be provided by Vasco.

The information was released at a working session between the Viet Nam Air Services Company (Vasco) and representatives of the two localities in Can Tho on April 1.
