China, Russia hope for success of Trump-Kim summit in Vietnam
China and Russia expressed hope that the second US-North Korean summit will be a success, and reaffirmed their commitment to a political settlement of Korean issues.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday that Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Kong Xuanyou met with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov on Monday to discuss those issues.
Both sides appreciated the efforts of North Korea and the US to resolve their differences via dialogue and hoped that Pyongyang and Washington will continue moving toward each other. Russia and China welcomed the recent thaw in Inter Korean relations and the advancement of peaceful cooperation.
