DPM Pham Binh Minh meets Indian President

Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh met with President Pranab Mukherjee and Minister of Defense cum Minister of Finance Arun Jaitley on July 4 during his official visit to India.

At the meeting, the Indian President hailed the developments in the two nations' traditional relationship and the Deputy PM, FM's official visit to India on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties and the 10th anniversary of bilateral Strategic Partnership.

Deputy PM, FM Minh thanked assistance of the Indian President for Viet Nam and congratulated India on its economic, technological and scientific development achievements, hoping India will soon become one of the largest economies and raising its status in the world.

He affirmed the Vietnamese Government's determination and desires to accelerating the two nations' Strategic Partnership.

To cope with changes of the international and regional arena, the two sides need to strengthen cooperation in multi-lateral aspects and promote consultation and coordination to address issues of mutual concerns, he suggested.

At the reception for Mr. Arun Jaitley, the two leaders agreed to maintain cooperation in national defense and security, especially training and exchanges at defense and security forums.

Minister Arun Jaitley affirmed that India will continue providing preferential credit packages in fields serving Viet Nam's modernization and industrialization process.

Deputy PM, FM Minh proposed the two Governments encourage and facilitate their businesses to expand cooperation and investment for mutual benefits.
