Fallen soldiers in Gac Ma naval battle commemorated

A ceremony was held in Da Nang city on Thursday to commemorate the Vietnam People's Navy soldiers who sacrificed their lives in Gac Ma island, part of Vietnam's Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago, 31 years ago.

Participants recalled the glorious fight and expressed profound gratitude to the soldiers who died for the nation's territorial integrity and sovereignty, saying that their sacrifice is always a bright example for later generations. The ceremony was hosted by the Liaison Board of Truong Sa Soldiers for the 1984-1988 period.
