Film week celebrates 65th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory

A film week celebrating the 65th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory, May 7, began Wednesday in Dien Bien Phu city.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Do Quoc Viet, Deputy Head of the Cinematography Department of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, said the event salutes Vietnam's patriotism, spirit of independence, and desire for peace, and shows Vietnamese people's gratitude for their countrymen's sacrifice. Viet said: The films will teach the younger generation about patriotism and national pride, honor our predecessors' sacrifice, and praise Dien Bien Phu's achievements in recent years. The film week will highlight cinema's role in national development.

The films chosen for the event include Living with history, Old soldiers' stories, and Thach Thao.
