Garments and textiles fulfil 50% of export target

VGP – As of mid July, apparels brought home US$10.38 billion from export, meeting over a half of the goal set for the year and showing US$1.7 billion higher than those of the same period last year, according to the Viet Nam Customs.

In the first half of July, with US$1.021 billion in export revenue, the garment and textile sector was the biggest hard currency earner. 

Last year, garment and textile was the second largest hard currency earner (after telephone), making US$20.4 billion in export turnover that outstripped the milestone of US$20 billion for the first time.

As of mid July, Viet Nam shipped nearly US$76.75 billion worth of goods abroad and enjoyed a trade surplus of US$1.38 billion. /.
