Ho Chi Minh city responds to Earth Hour 2022

300 young volunteers cycled on Sunday in Ho Chi Minh City to kick-start Earth Hour 2022. They also participated in numerous challenges held at historical sites and iconic buildings in Ho Chi Minh city to draw the public interest in the ‘Earth Hour 2022’ campaign. Duong Quoc Trung, a cyclist, said, “I have participated in ‘Earth Hour’ for seven years now. I have noticed that such campaign has made people more aware of protecting the environment and saving electricity. More and more people have involved in this by cleaning up their places, putting trash in the trash bin, and turning off lights and electronics not in use.”

More activities in response to Earth Hour 2022 will take place in Ho Chi Minh city until the end of March, including planting 1,000 trees in the outskirts, taking care of mangrove forests, and painting walls around the city.

Earth Hour is an annual event observed at 8.30 pm on the last Saturday of March to call for an hour of turning off the lights.
