India leads pharma market in Viet Nam

VGP – India has become the biggest pharmaceutical provider in Viet Nam by occupying 13.6% of the market share, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT).

As of late June, Viet Nam imported US$963.3 million worth of pharma products, representing a year-on-year increase of 8.27%.

The figure included US$131.1 million of medicines imported from India, up 13.54% against the same period last year.

France ranked second with US$106.6 million (down17.33% against the same period last year); followed by Germany US$95.9 million (up 35.18%).

According the Ministry of Finance, prices of medicines in the domestic market were kept stable in the first half of 2014./.
