Iran threatens to abandon nuclear deal with P5+1

Iran is willing to quit its nuclear deal with the P5+1 if the US continues its sanctions against Tehran, President Hassan Rouhani told lawmakers on Tuesday.

The accord with world powers in 2015 gave Iran relief from international sanctions in exchange for curbing its nuclear activities. President Rouhani made the statement after US President Donald Trump had signed new sanctions on Tehran following its ballistic missile test. He said the move proved that President Trump is not a reliable negotiator. Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said Iran's missile tests do not involve rockets with nuclear warheads.
