Iranian President says talks with US possible

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Saturday suggested that Tehran will be open to negotiations if the US shows respect and is abided by international rules. But he said Tehran will not be pressured into negotiations.

The same day, Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said Tehran needs no mediator for negotiating with the US, adding that the decision to whether they will hold talks should be made by the supreme leaders.

US President Donald Trump said last week he remained open to talks with Tehran if it wants to. According to the US Secretary of State, Washington doesn't oppose to the offer of mediation to its possible talks with Tehran.
