Landslide in Uzbekistan, casualties reported

As a result of a landslide on Kamchik Pass in the Namangan region of Uzbekistan, several people got killed and injured as well, said the message of the Uzbek Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The message from the ministry said five people were dead because of the disaster, while six more were saved.

Due to the landslide, which occurred May 4 at about 14.00 (UTC/GMT +4 hours), two cars were reportedly damaged on the road.

Following the incident, the road through the Pass was closed down. Currently the relevant structures are working at the scene.
