Party and State leaders congratulate medical staff on their day

PANO � Party and State leaders extended congratulations to doctors and medical workers on the Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27) while visiting some hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi on February 25.

During the visit to Military Hospital 175 of the Ministry of National Defense, Politburo member and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh congratulated the hospital's workers on their day and inquired after patients who are under treatment at the military hospital. He also talked with and encouraged the hospital's medical staff in Truong Sa island district, Khanh Hoa province through the telemedicine system.

At the meeting with the hospital's leaders, Binh expressed delight at remarkable achievements of the hospital over the past years, especially in preparing and handing over the first level-two field hospital to the UN and in taking care of troops and civilians in the mainland and those at sea and on islands.

The Permanent Deputy Prime Minister stressed that taking care of patients, especially island troops and people is the sacred mission, Military Hospital 175 should further promote their good traditions and achieved results to successfully fulfill political missions assigned by the Party, State, and Army, contributing to building the hospital into a special medical station of the military and a high-tech medical center in the South in particular and the nation in General.

On the occasion, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh joined a program to hand over 50 bicycles to children of doctors who are undertaking missions in Truong Sa island district and at the UN Mission in South Sudan.

* On the same day, Politburo member, member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee (PCC), and Head of the PCC's Commission for Information and Education Vo Van Thuong visited and extended congratulations to nurses and doctors of Military Central Hospital 108.

He highly appreciated the hospital's recorded achievements over the past 67 years, especially in 2018 and in the first months of this year. With modern equipment and facilities and competent doctors and medical staff, Hospital 108 will certainly become an international hospital, Thuong emphasized.

While visiting former doctors Nguyen Buu Trieu and Le Duc Hinh, Thuong highly appreciated their contributions to the healthcare sector and hoped that they would share their professionalism to young medical personnel, so as to strengthen the country's medical sector.

* In Ho Chi Minh City, Politburo member and Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City's Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan visited Labor Hero and former Deputy Minister of Health Doan Thuy Ba and Heroic Vietnamese Mother and former Deputy Minister of Health Bui Thi Me. Speaking highly of their contributions, Nhan hoped that the veteran doctors will continue devoting their minds to the medical sector and the community.

On the day, he visited medical personnel of Pham Ngoc Trach Hospital.
